DESCRIPTION:The First Sunday in Advent begins the Church Year. Advent is a 
 Season of waiting\, hoping and expecting as we take stock of our lives and
  prepare to meet King Jesus when He returns to judge the living and the de
 ad\, and to make all things new.\n\nThe Collect (prayer) for the First Sun
 day in Advent is a great one and meant to be prayed daily\, morning and ev
 ening through the whole season.\n\nALMIGHTY God\, give us grace that we m
 ay cast away the works of darkness\, and put upon us the armour of light\,
  now in the time of this mortal life in which thy Son Jesus Christ came to
  visit us in great humility\; that in the last day\, when he shall come ag
 ain in his glorious majesty to judge both the quick and the dead\, we may 
 rise to the life immortal\; through him who liveth and reigneth with thee
