Pastor Shane will preaching from Palm 18. Following service we are joining Shepherd of the Valley for a potluck.
The Collect and Lessons for The 2nd Sunday in Lent.
Almighty God, you see that we have no power of our own to help ourselves: keep us both outwardly in our bodies and inwardly in our souls so that we may be defended from all ills that may befall the body and from all evil thoughts that may assault and hurt the soul, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
The Collect for Ash Wednesday (prayed daily through Lent)
Almighty and everlasting God, you hate nothing that you have made and forgive the sins of all who are penitent: make in us new and contrite hearts so that, lamenting our sins and acknowledging our wretchedness, we may receive from you, the God of all mercy, perfect remission and forgiveness through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

LD4 Q9 Does God permit such disobedience and rebellion to go unpunished?
A. Certainly not. God is terribly angry with the sin we are born with as well as the sins we personally commit.
As a just judge, God will punish them both now and in eternity, having declared:
“Cursed is everyone who does not observe and obey
all the things written in the book of the law.”
