At the end of the letter, Peter gives one more command to “stand firm in it.” The it is the GRACE of God which he describes as “true grace.” And he means all that he has written in the letter. By the Holy Spirit, he has written a letter that is God’s word and therefore, they are true grace for us to believe and stand in. We are “Chose Exiles.” We are Chose in relation to God and we are Exiles in relation to this present age. We need God’s grace to face this world as we journey towards the world to come. Like Jesus, we walk through suffering now as we await eternal glory!
