5/17/26 Psalm 49 You Can’t Take it With You

Preacher:
Passage: Psalm 49
Service Type:

Psalm 49 set before us and calls us to give heed to this truth: it does not matter who we are, how much we accomplish in this life or how much wealth we amass, we are all going to die. The grave is the end of every person because we are sons and daughters of Adam and therefore, sinners who face the penalty of sin: death. It is quite stark. And yet, in the middle of this Psalm, the truth and hope of the resurrection is also held forth. The upright will rise and be received by God into his eternal home. Since there is only one truly upright human being: Jesus, he is the one who has gone before us, and through faith in him, we can know that we will be received into heaven when we die.
