Psalm 68 is a song of praise to the Victory of King Jesus. The historical setting id King David tracing God’s leading of his people from Mt. Sinai to Mt. Zion (Jerusalem). He makes many statements about about God throughout the Psalm including the beautiful picture of God being a “Father to the fatherless.” God becomes our Father through adoption and he loves us. This is because Jesus was victorious in the cross, ascended in glory and gave the gift of the Spirit, who Paul calls the Spirit of Adoption. What can we do but praise God and proclaim His victory to the world.
