Psalm 90 is a psalm of Moses. Most likely at the end of his own long life and after watching the generation of Israelites that he led through the Red Sea all die in the wilderness over 40 years. It is his lament of death. He states that it is God’s judgment and wrath with the people for sin that is the reason. But he does not blame God nor say God is unjust. He acknowledged that is is our sin that causes us to return to dust. But there is hope. For the humble, who turn to God in faith, there is steadfast love and hope for the future. May we get this heart of wisdom and so number our own days.
