Sunday Worship: The Feast of St. Barnabas
June 11th of every year is the feast day of St. Barnabas who was called the “son of encouragement.” Since it falls on a Sunday this year, our Scripture lessons and prayer of the day all center on his life. When we take time to remember a particular saint, we do so to give thanks to God for him or her.
In our Romans Sermon Series, Pastor Shane will be preaching Romans 8:12-17.
To prepare for worship, read the Collect and Scripture lessons.
The Collect for St. Barnabas the Apostle.
O Lord God almighty, who didst endue they holy apostle Barnabas with the singular gifts of the Holy Ghost: Leave us not, we beseech thee, destitute of thy manifold gifts, nor yet of grace to use them always to thy honour and glory, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Psalm: 41
OT: Jeremiah 9:23-24
Epistle: Acts 11:22-30
