The Psalter (Book of Psalms) is central to the life of the Church and Jesus is central to the Psalter. It is by far the most quoted Old Testament book by New Testament authors. King David, who wrote half of the Psalms, changed the worship of Israel by introducing music and singing to the sacrificial system. And it was David’s son, Jesus, who prayed and sang these very Psalms when He walked the earth. And as we pray the Psalms now in the Spirit, the ascended Lord Jesus prays with us at the Father’s right hand.
