Verse 17 of Romans 1 tells us that the Gospel of Jesus reveals God's righteousness, and that he offers it to everyone who believes. The reason we need this is because we are unrighteous from the inside out. And in our unrighteous hearts, we deny the the reality that God exists and is our maker.
