Psalm 45 is a Royal Wedding Song of love of Christ, the Bridegroom, and his bride, the Church. He is held before us as beautiful and He is beautiful in every way. We are called to be captivated with his beauty: the beauty of the cross and the words of the gospel, and the beauty which is his as God. When we are captivated with Christ, all the false beauty of the world, the flesh and the devil increasingly dims in comparison. All of this points towards the day when Christ returns and the marriage supper of the Lamb will be held. All who, by faith, receive him now, will be with him forever. As we keep hearing, in many different ways, it is his love, his beauty and desire for us that changes us.
