When it comes to worship, the Bible has one clear message from start to finish. God wants worship that comes from grateful hearts. He does NOT want an external obedience that simply tries to keep him happy with us or by thinking he can owe us something for doing things. And certainly does NOT want lip service only, where we agree with what he says, but live opposite to it. In other words: no legalists or hypocrites. The time we have on earth is short. Judgement is coming when Jesus returns. Only a changed heart that offers God a sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving that flows into a life of obedience will be rewarded. Today is the day to hear his call to repent.
