There are several opposing metaphors that the Bible uses to contrast God’s ways and the ways of this present age such as: light and darkness, and life and death. In Ephesians 4:17-32 the contrast is in the “clothes” we wear. As Christians, the Old Clothes no longer fit as they adorn us in impurity and ugly behavior. Rather, we are called to put on the New Clothes that God created for us and fit us perfectly, adorn us in holiness and beauty, and point to Christ.
