In this section, Paul finally concludes his long section that he began in Romans 1:18, where he began diagnosing the human condition. In this final section, Paul appeals to the Old Testament to say that every single person is unrighteous and sinful before God. The natural condition of all men, as a result of the Fall, is to reject God and serve themselves. Paul makes it clear that this is a universal condition; it doesn’t matter if you are a Jew or a Gentile, for apart from the wonderful working of God through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, all men turn away from God.
