2/03/23 Romans 4:16-25: The God who Keeps His Promises
As chapter 4 comes to an end, Paul finishes his lengthy discourse on the example of Abraham to illustrate the reality that salvation has only ever been by faith alone. In these verses, Paul reminds us that God is in control and that our salvation is based upon the promises of God. Therefore, we are able to have confidence that our salvation is secure for the promise of a Redeemer has been fulfilled in the work of Christ. He died, was buried, and rose again so that we may know that our sins have been truly forgiven and that our justification, which we receive by faith, is secure. The reality of Abraham’s faith is present throughout his life, as he looks forward to the promise of a Redeemer. We are invited also to turn our eyes to Christ who has made us his own and secured our salvation.
