Passage: Romans 13:8-10
Service Type:

Moving from describing how Christians ought to relate to the government, Paul returns to focusing on how Christians ought to relate to other people. He states that Christians are to be responsible borrowers, paying back debts as they are due. Additionally, there is one debt that Christians can never pay off, and that is the debt to love their neighbor, for all Christians are bound to love their neighbor. All the Law’s commands can be summed up with the command to love your neighbor as yourself, and this remains in force for Christians. We have been shown great love by God in the sending of Christ Jesus, and so let us live in gracious response to that love by loving our neighbor.
