3/19/23 Romans 6:1-7 Saved to Sin No More
Starting in chapter 6, Paul turns his attention to sanctification. We have been been saved from the penalty of sin, and will be saved in the future from the presence of sin, but what about now and the power of sin in our lives? What is essential for us to grasp is that we who have baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death, burial and resurrection. Being united to His death to sin, we have died to sin; being united to His resurrection, we should walk in newness of life. While we will not attain sinless perfection in this life, understanding this reality is the first step for us in living progressively righteous lives.
