4/19/26 St. George’s Day Psalm 37 Keep Your Eyes on Jesus!
The Psalter, beginning in Psalm 1 tells us that God blesses and prospers the righteous. The problem is that we often look around us at the world, and those living lives in open opposition to God and His ways, and they seem to be ones prospering, living a full life. Often when we are struggling to make ends meet, or having challenges in our relationships, or seeing our dreams not turn out the way we hoped. How do we respond? David tells us throughout this amazing Psalm that we are not to work ourselves up in anger or give ourselves over to envy. Rather, keep our eyes, that is, our eyes of FAITH upon God and His promises. The more we do this the more we will see that He truly upholds our hand along the way in the midst of our stumbling. And we will come to see our deepest desire for God Himself fulfilled in the world to come.
