The question each one of us must ask is, “am I living my life UNDER the Word of God, or am I living my life OVER the Word of God?” God had Jeremiah record on a scroll His own words, so that they could be read to the people of Judah in his day, and so that we might hear them today in the Bible. The purpose is that we would live UNDER the Word of God by turning from evil and towards Him, receiving forgiveness of sins. Through His Word we have friendship with God. And the primary place where we hear God’s Word read and preached is in the church, amongst the people of God, experiencing the blessing of His friendship with us.
