What makes us strong from the inside out? What enables our growth to stand secure, firm in the faith? Our culture tells us that we can make ourselves strong by focusing on ourselves. We become strong to stand independently. But this is the opposite of love which grows strong in dependence.

It is the love of God the Father for us in Christ that the Holy Spirit works in us. All this is seen in one of Paul's great prayers. He desires that we would not lose heart and so he prays that God would strengthen us in our hearts by the power of the Spirit. He strengthens us in love so that we go deeper in love and come to know even more the incomprehensible love of God.
