Luke 5:1-11 (5th Sunday after Trinity) Jesus is Gentle and Lowly towards Sinners

In Luke 5:1-11, God has been preparing Peter to see Jesus for who He truly is. In doing so, Peter sees himself as he truly is: a sinner. Jesus’ heart towards Peter is the same towards any sinner who truly turns to him: gentle and lowly.
