When champions are made on the playing field today, whether that be in baseball, football or even soccer, fans join in with their teams and sing victory songs. Psalm 118 is the victory song of the King of Israel in battle, pointing to the ultimate victory song of King Jesus in the cross and resurrection. He has won the victory over our enemies: sin, death, Satan and hell. And through faith we not only join in singing His victory, but participate in it. He has done it all: our great Victor!
