Paul has been dealing with the presence of suffering in our lives and in all creation which now brings him to state two great truths. The first is that we have true hope in our suffering in this life (8:24-26). The second is that we have been given the Holy Spirit who helps us in our weakness through His own intercession to the Father for us (8:26-27). All of us suffer and all of us are weak, especially in believing that we are fully loved by the Father in Christ. What wonderful truth to know the the Spirit Himself is on our side!
