Our society attempts to offer people a myriad of solutions to the issue of stress which plagues all of us in some way or another. Yet, when we as believers attempt to counsel people to take refuge in God, we are met with scorn and ridicule. However, Psalm 31 makes clear that refuge in and dependence upon God is the true answer to the worries of stress. We see David facing ridicule and slander from those he thought were close to him, but he turns to God and finds comfort and hope. As believers, we will face stress as the world persecutes us, but let us cling to the Father who has made us His own and promises hope and deliverance to us in Jesus.
